Lords of the Fallen - Digital Deluxe Edition - 2014

Digital 13

Lords of the Fallen (2014) hands the fate of humanity to the one man nobody would choose to save it. Harkyn is a convicted criminal, his crimes tattooed across his face, released from prison only because the god Adyr and his Rhogar legions have broken back into the human realm and no one else is left to stop them. Co-developed by CI Games and Deck13, this is a dark fantasy action RPG built around heavy, deliberate melee combat, devastating boss encounters and a world that punishes carelessness. The Digital Deluxe Edition pairs the full game with a 96-page concept Artbook and a World Map of the human and demonic realms.

A Sinner Sent to Face a God

Millennia ago, three powerful beings known as the Judges led mankind in rebellion against Adyr, casting the tyrant god and his monstrous Rhogar army into a distant dimension. Humanity built a new order on that victory, one so unforgiving that no sin is ever pardoned and redemption simply does not exist. Now Adyr is clawing his way back, and his generals, the Lords of the Fallen, are carving a bloody path for his return.

Harkyn is released into this crisis alongside his mentor Kaslo, and the story that follows asks whether a man society has already condemned can earn something the world refuses to offer. Choices along the way shape how events unfold, and some of them carry consequences you will not see coming. The journey takes Harkyn from crumbling tower tops and ancient burial grounds to the heart of the Rhogar dimension itself.

Combat That Rewards Patience

Every swing of a hammer, axe or claw commits Harkyn to its full animation, so this is a game about reading an enemy, managing stamina and choosing the right moment rather than mashing through. Blocks, parries and rolls all cost resources, armor weight changes how quickly you move, and a single mistimed attack against the wrong opponent can end a run. It is demanding in the Soulslike tradition, but it is also fair, and the feeling of finally taking down an enemy that has killed you a dozen times is the whole point.

Magic bolsters your steel rather than replacing it. Spells drawn from your chosen school open up openings, buy space or hit hard when a fight turns, and the XP you earn from every kill upgrades the spells and attributes you actually rely on. One twist worth knowing: the longer you go without banking experience at a checkpoint, the higher your XP multiplier climbs, which turns every push deeper into the level into a genuine gamble.

Build Harkyn Your Way

Nine starting combinations come from pairing one of three armor classes with one of three magic schools, and each plays noticeably differently through the opening hours and beyond.

Warrior
Heavy armor and the stamina to swing the biggest hammers and greatswords in the game. Slower on the roll but able to absorb hits that would flatten a lighter build, this is the class for players who prefer to stand their ground and trade blows.
Cleric
Medium armor and a balanced kit that leans on staves and supporting spells. A comfortable all-rounder for players who want the option to fight at range, heal through a rough patch or bolster their attacks before committing to a boss.
Rogue
Light armor, fast movement and quick weapons such as daggers and claws. Rogue builds live on dodging and precise punishment of enemy recovery windows, rewarding players who would rather never get hit than tank the damage.
Magic schools: Brawling, Deception and Solace
Each school offers a distinct set of spells to develop with XP. Brawling favors direct force and stagger, Deception centers on misdirection and decoys that pull enemy attention, and Solace focuses on protection and sustain for longer fights.

The Lords of the Rhogar Army

Ordinary Rhogar soldiers will test you, but the Lords are on another scale entirely. These towering generals of Adyr's army are the game's signature encounters: multi-phase battles against enormous, heavily armored foes where each has its own tells, its own arena and its own way of punishing a lapse in attention. Learning a Lord's patterns and finally executing a clean kill is as satisfying as combat gets in this genre.

Between those fights, the world itself is worth the effort of exploring. Labyrinthine paths loop back on themselves, hidden passages conceal rare weapons and armor, and the most powerful items of legend are tucked away where only the most dedicated players will find them. Loot is not the only thing waiting in the dark corners, so treat every new doorway with respect.

What the Digital Deluxe Edition Includes

  • The complete Lords of the Fallen (2014) base game, spanning both the human realm under siege and the demonic dimension the Rhogar call home, with all nine starting class combinations and the Lords Harkyn must face on his way to Adyr.
  • The Lords of the Fallen Artbook, a 96-page digital collection of concept art covering the game's locations, the Rhogar Lords and their minions, and the armor, weapons and items Harkyn wields against them.
  • The Lords of the Fallen World Map, a digital map charting both the human and demonic realms, a handy companion for anyone who wants to see how the game's interconnected regions fit together.

Adyr is coming back whether the world is ready or not, and the only man standing in his way is one it already threw away. Pick up your weapon, learn its weight, and find out whether a sinner can earn his redemption through the fires of battle.
